The vast majority of our clients are everyday women with no modeling experience. In fact, most have never had a professional portrait session before.

Every portrait experience is as unique as the woman in front of the camera.

Private sessions begin at $450, while your final investment is determined by the portraits and artwork you choose to take home. Some clients select a handful of favorite portraits, while others preserve their entire transformation with one of our Luxe Collections.

We’ll guide you through all of your options during your same-day image reveal, helping you create a collection you’ll treasure for years to come. There is no minimum image purchase requirement, so you’re always free to purchase only what you love.

Your session fee covers the complete Lone Star Pin-up transformation experience, including the time and expertise of your photographer and professional hair and makeup artist.

Your session fee covers the photography experience itself. Portrait collections, digital images, and additional artwork are purchased separately so you can choose the portraits and products that are perfect for you.

We never require a minimum purchase, allowing you the freedom to select only the portraits and artwork you truly love.

Yes! We offer flexible financing options to help make your Lone Star Pin-up experience more accessible.

Prefer to pay over time before your session? You’re also welcome to make advance payments toward your session or portrait collection. We’ll securely keep your payments on file until you’re ready for your experience.

Portrait collections are selected and finalized during your same-day reveal and ordering appointment. Payment is due in full at that time. If additional time is needed to complete payment, a $250 archive fee will apply to maintain your images on file.

Lone Star Pin-up is an appointment-only studio, allowing us to provide every client with a personalized experience.

Private portrait sessions may be scheduled any day of the week, subject to availability.

Special events, themed sessions, and limited-time promotions may only be booked during the dates specified for each event. Please visit our Specials page for current offerings and booking information.

We recommend booking your private session as early as possible, especially if you have a specific date, holiday, or special occasion in mind.

Many clients book several weeks or months in advance, and limited-time specials often fill quickly. Contact us as soon as you know you’d like to create your portrait experience so we can find the best available date for you.

We understand that sometimes unexpected things happen. To keep your session retainer on file and move your appointment to a new date, we require at least 48 hours notice for private session rescheduling.

If you need to reschedule with less than 48 hours notice, $200 of your session payment will be forfeited. If you do not show up for your appointment and provide no notice, $350 of your session payment will be forfeited.

Because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you and our team prepares specifically for your experience, all session fees and payments are non-refundable. Canceling your session will result in the forfeiture of your session fee.

Session fees for one-day specials, special events, classes, and workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable, so please be sure you are available before booking.

The best preparation is to come ready to relax, have fun, and enjoy your transformation!

If you have a particular style or look you love, we encourage you to gather inspiration before your session. Reference photos are always welcome and help us understand your vision. Our professional hair and makeup artists have extensive experience creating vintage-inspired, glamour, and custom looks, and they will work with you to find a style that complements your features.

Keep in mind that every person’s hair, skin, and features are unique, so some looks may need to be adapted. The final result will be inspired by your favorite ideas while being customized specifically for you. 

HAIR

• Clean hair provides the best foundation for styling. For best results, wash your hair the night before your session and avoid using styling products on the day of your appointment (including gel, oils, heavy conditioners, or hairspray).
• Please arrive with clean, dry hair. Dirty, greasy, or oily hair can significantly limit styling options.
• If you have very curly hair and would like a straighter vintage-inspired style, please arrive with your hair already straightened so we can create your desired look.

FACE

• Have your eyebrows groomed 2-3 days before your session to allow any redness or irritation to settle.
• Please arrive with clean, moisturized skin.
• If you have sensitivities to specific makeup products, feel free to bring products you know work well for you.
• Professional photography makeup is different from everyday makeup. It may appear heavier in person, but studio lighting and cameras require additional definition so your features photograph beautifully.
• Special effects makeup, extreme makeup designs, or highly detailed concepts require advance planning and may require an additional fee for materials and services. Please contact us before your session with any special requests.

BODY

• Nails should be clean and free of chipped polish. A professional manicure and pedicure before your session is always a great finishing touch.
• Remove any body hair you do not want visible in your portraits.
• Get a good night’s rest before your session to help you feel refreshed and reduce puffiness.
• Keep your skin moisturized in the days leading up to your session. Avoid applying lotion, oils, or baby oil immediately before your appointment, as these can create unwanted shine.
• Wear a loose-necked or button-front shirt for hair and makeup styling. Studio wardrobe pieces are reserved for your final looks and should not be worn during the preparation portion of your experience.

Most importantly, come ready to have fun and enjoy the experience! Your hair, makeup, and wardrobe are all part of the transformation, and nothing is permanent. If something doesn’t feel like you, let us know. We want you to feel confident, beautiful, and completely yourself when you see your final portraits.

From the moment you arrive, your portrait experience is designed to be relaxed, exciting, and completely centered around you.

We’ll begin in our wardrobe room, where we’ll explore our studio collection, pull a variety of looks for you to try on, and finalize your outfits, accessories, and session themes. This is one of the most exciting parts of the experience, as your vision begins to come to life. If you’ve completed a pre-session consultation, we’ll already have your looks and concepts planned, allowing us to move straight into hair and makeup. Since many of our clients travel from across Texas and beyond, most wardrobe planning takes place on the day of the session.

Once your looks have been selected, you’ll relax while our professional hair and makeup artist completes your transformation. During this time, we’ll prepare your sets, lighting, and everything needed for your portraits.

When you’re camera-ready, it’s time for the fun to begin! We’ll guide you through every pose, expression, and detail of your session, so you never have to wonder what to do. Whether you’re feeling excited or a little nervous, we’ll be there to help you feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful throughout the entire experience.

Immediately following your session, you’ll enjoy your same-day reveal and ordering appointment. You’ll view your images for the very first time and choose your favorite portraits, artwork, and collection options. This is your opportunity to see the incredible transformation that took place during your session and select the images you want to preserve forever.

After your selections are finalized, your chosen portraits will receive our signature professional retouching and finishing process before being delivered as your finished artwork.

Absolutely! Every woman’s hair is unique, and we love creating beautiful styles that work with your individual look.

Our experienced stylists are skilled in creating vintage-inspired and glamour hairstyles for a variety of hair lengths, textures, colors, and styles. Whether you have short hair, natural hair, braids, a bold color, or wear a wig or hairpiece, we’ll work with you to create a look that complements your vision.

We have a selection of wigs and styling pieces available at the studio, but you’re also welcome to bring your own wig or hairpieces if you have something specific you’d like to incorporate. Human hair wigs and high-quality synthetic wigs typically provide the best results. If bringing a synthetic wig, we recommend choosing one with some curl or texture, as very straight synthetic hair can be more difficult to style.

Please bring quality hairpieces whenever possible rather than costume or Halloween wigs, as the quality of the hair will greatly affect the final result.

For the best styling results:

• Please arrive with clean, completely dry hair.
• Avoid heavy styling products before your session.
• A $30 styling preparation fee may apply if your hair arrives wet and additional drying time is required.

The most important thing to bring is yourself and your imagination!

If you have favorite vintage, retro-inspired, glamorous, or statement pieces that make you feel amazing, we encourage you to bring them. Personal items with sentimental value can also add a meaningful touch to your portraits, such as a musical instrument, a family heirloom, or a special piece of clothing.

Have a specific idea in mind but don’t have everything needed to create the look? No problem! Our studio wardrobe includes a variety of clothing, accessories, and props, and we’re always happy to help you plan the perfect concept.

For your comfort and the best results during your transformation, please bring:

• A flesh-toned bra and panties (thong style works best for minimizing lines)
• High heels or shoes you’d like to incorporate
• Any favorite shapewear, smoothing garments, or foundation pieces that help you feel confident and comfortable
• Any hosiery you would like to use

If bringing stockings, please avoid styles labeled “thigh-high” as these typically have a thicker silicone or plastic band that can be difficult to hide in photographs. “Stockings” are best for vintage styling.

For hair and makeup styling, please wear a loose-necked or button-front shirt that can be easily removed without disturbing your finished hairstyle, or you are welcome to use one of our studio robes.

Yes! Our extensive studio wardrobe collection is one of the things that makes the Lone Star Pin-up experience so unique.

With a wide variety of vintage-inspired clothing, lingerie, accessories, and statement pieces in sizes 0-26, we have options to help create looks that fit your personality, style, and vision.

Our collection features beautiful garments from designers including Dita Von Teese, What Katie Did, Pinup Girl Clothing, Catherine D’Lish, Neiman Marcus, Sew She Said, Bettie Page Clothing, Secrets in Lace, Victoria’s Secret, Unique Vintage, and many more.

You’re also welcome to bring your own wardrobe pieces, especially items that have personal meaning or help create a look that feels uniquely yours. We’ll mix and match clothing, accessories, and styling elements to create the perfect outfits for your session.

Not at all! The vast majority of our clients are everyday women who have never had a professional portrait session before.

You don’t need to know how to pose, know your “good side,” or feel comfortable in front of the camera before you arrive. That’s what we’re here for! Throughout your session, we’ll guide you through everything from head placement and body positioning to facial expressions and the little details that create natural, flattering portraits.

If you’d like to prepare beforehand, we recommend browsing vintage photography, classic Hollywood glamour, or pin-up artwork for inspiration. Pay attention to the expressions, posture, and overall feeling of the images you’re drawn to.

You can even practice a few facial expressions in the mirror before your session. It may feel a little silly, but the women who fully embrace the experience often create the most memorable portraits.

Your session will involve some movement and holding different poses, so wearing comfortable clothing to your appointment and doing a little stretching beforehand can help you feel your best.

Most importantly, relax and enjoy the experience. We’ll guide you through every step of your transformation, helping you feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful from beginning to end.

Erin has been creating vintage-inspired portraits since 2008 and specializes in helping everyday women see themselves in a whole new way. With a background in professional photo retouching, graphic design, and a lifelong love of vintage style, dressing up, and being unapologetically extra, Erin brings both technical expertise and creative vision to every session.

Many clients appreciate the comfort of working with a female photographer who understands the experience from a woman’s perspective and knows how to guide you through every step of your transformation.

If you’d like to bring a guest, please let us know beforehand. Due to limited studio space and the personalized nature of our sessions, guests may not always be able to attend every portion of the experience.

Our sets, props, and themed concepts are constantly evolving, and we occasionally create new looks or photograph on location. If there is a specific image, theme, or idea that caught your eye, please let us know during your planning process and we’ll discuss the possibilities.

While some past sets may no longer be available, we are always creating new concepts and finding fresh ways to bring your vision to life.

Yes! If you have a special vehicle that helps tell your story, we’d love to incorporate it into your portrait experience.

Lone Star Pin-up does not provide vehicles, but you’re welcome to bring your own car or motorcycle for an outdoor portion of a private session. Because one-day special sessions have a shorter timeframe, vehicle photography is not available during those events.

Please contact the studio before your session so we can discuss your ideas and make any necessary arrangements.

Motorcycles may also be brought into the studio for a $35 studio fee per bike. A designated handler must remain on-site at all times to move the motorcycle. For safety reasons, motorcycles may not be driven into the studio, and engines must remain off while inside.

Lone Star Pin-up is not responsible for moving motorcycles or for any damage that may occur while a vehicle is in the studio.

First, know that you are welcome exactly as you are. Every woman has a unique story, and we believe your portraits should make you feel confident and beautiful.

All purchased portraits from Lone Star Pin-up include professional retouching. This includes enhancing skin texture, reducing temporary blemishes, and creating polished, camera-ready images while still maintaining a natural and beautiful appearance.

For clients who desire additional retouching, we also offer more extensive enhancements such as tan line adjustments, tattoo removal, teeth whitening, body contouring, and other custom edits.

Prefer a more natural look? Want to preserve meaningful scars, birthmarks, or features that make you uniquely you? The level of retouching is always your choice. Simply let us know what feels right for you.

Lone Star Pin-up specializes in creating unforgettable portrait experiences centered around you. We believe your transformation time should be a chance to relax, be pampered, and fully enjoy the experience.

If you would like to include a partner, child, or pet in a portion of your session, we are happy to discuss the possibilities! Additional participants may be added to the final portion of your session when it fits your chosen concept and schedule.

Please note that hair and makeup services and studio wardrobe options are reserved for the client being photographed. Partners, children, and pets will need to arrive with their own wardrobe and ready for their portion of the session.

For the best experience, we recommend allowing time for your transformation to be completed before additional participants arrive. This allows you to fully enjoy your hair, makeup, styling, and portrait experience without distractions.

Participants 12 years and older who would like their own full portrait experience must book a separate session.

Please contact the studio before your appointment so we can discuss your ideas and make sure we plan the perfect experience.

To protect the surprise of your final portraits and ensure the best possible experience, personal cameras and cell phones are not permitted in the studio shooting areas during your session.

You’re welcome to capture all the behind-the-scenes selfies you would like in our hair and makeup area and dressing room. We love seeing you document your transformation and share those special moments!

Your same-day reveal and ordering appointment is one of the most exciting parts of your Lone Star Pin-up experience! Immediately following your session, you will view your professionally retouched portraits and select the images and artwork you would like to take home.

Portrait collections, digital images, and additional products are finalized during this appointment, and payment is due in full at that time.

We accept cash and all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We do not accept checks.

Images selected for purchase will be carefully prepared and delivered according to your chosen products. Unpurchased images are kept on file for six months. After this time, images may be permanently removed from our archives.

If additional time is needed to complete payment beyond your ordering appointment, a $250 archive fee will apply to maintain your images on file.

Every portrait purchased from Lone Star Pin-up receives professional retouching and careful attention to detail before delivery.

Please allow 10-14 business days for your images to be professionally finished. Printed artwork typically requires an additional 5-7 business days for production and delivery to the studio.

Some specialty products, custom artwork, albums, and larger wall pieces may require additional production time. We will keep you updated and contact you as soon as your order is ready for pickup or ready to ship.

Because our studio is open by appointment only, please contact us to schedule a pickup time. We will notify you as soon as your order is ready and help coordinate a convenient time for you to pick up your portraits.

Your privacy is extremely important to us. Your portraits will never be shared publicly without your express permission.

We understand that every client has different comfort levels, and some images may be personal, private, or intended as a special surprise for someone you love. We will always respect your choices and only share your portraits online, in our studio, or in our marketing materials if you have provided permission through our model release process.

Your images belong to your story, and you are always in control of how they are shared.

Purchasing your digital images does not transfer the copyright. As the creator of the artwork, Lone Star Pin-up retains the copyright to all photographs created during your session.

High-resolution digital images purchased from Lone Star Pin-up include a print release, allowing you to make personal copies of your images through the professional print lab or printing service of your choice.

Low-resolution, watermarked images are provided for personal online sharing. All digital images must remain unaltered unless modifications have been approved by the photographer.

Copyrighted images may not be copied, scanned, reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without written permission from Lone Star Pin-up.

While we no longer offer traditional pin-up party photoshoots, we do offer a special group booking option for friends who would like to experience Lone Star Pin-up together.

When two or more clients book sessions on the same day, each person receives 20% off a Basic, Deluxe, or Ultimate Session.

Because each client receives professional hair and makeup styling and a fully personalized portrait experience, we can accommodate a maximum of four sessions per day. Group discounts are subject to booking availability.

Lone Star Pin-up primarily creates portrait experiences for our clients rather than traditional model photography. Our clients are the stars of their own transformations, and we love helping everyday women create unforgettable portraits.

From time to time, we do hold casting calls when we are looking for a specific concept, theme, or creative project. These opportunities are announced through our social media channels, so be sure to follow along for future casting opportunities.

We do not offer free photoshoots, TFP sessions, or regularly hire professional models.
