To top off your experience, our high-end photo retouching and custom artwork options will give your pin-up images the perfect finishing touch.

Our private sessions start at $450, however the total cost is determined by you. You can custom-tailor your portrait experience by choosing your session type and adding images a la carte or in one of our discounted photo packages.

The studio is open by appointment only. Private sessions may be booked any day of the week, but are subject to availability.

One day special sessions are only available to book on the specific day posted. Limited time specials may have specific booking date requirements, so check the Specials page for specific details.

The session fee for any of our private sessions reserves your time in the studio with the photographer and your hair and makeup artist. It includes a consultation, access to our costume closet, hair and makeup styling and a gallery of images to review immediately following your shoot. All images are purchased separately.

Of course! We have an assortment of wigs at the studio, but we also encourage our pin-ups to bring matching hairpieces that may be used to enhance your look.

Human hair wigs are easiest to work with and produce the best results.

Synthetic wigs can also be styled, but be sure to bring one with some curl as straight, synthetic hair does not work well for pin-up hair styling.

Try to bring a quality hair piece, not a Halloween or costume wig. Short, natural and braided hair can also be styled in a variety of ways.

For best styling results, please come no heavy products in your hair. Make sure your hair is washed and completely dry. A $30 fee will apply if you come to your shoot with wet hair.

48 hours notice is required to reschedule your private session in order to keep your session fee payment on file.

If you reschedule with less than 48 hours notice or do not show up for your appointment with no notice given, $200 of your session fee will be forfeited.

All session fees and payments are non-refundable, so canceling your shoot will result in forfeiture of your session fee.

Session fees for one day specials, special events, classes and workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable, so make sure you can attend before booking.

Any vintage or retro-style clothing that makes you feel sexy and any props with sentimental value, for example: a musical instrument or your grandmother’s prom dress.

If you have a specific idea in mind but don’t have any props or costumes, contact us for more information on what props and costumes are available at the studio.

Be sure to wear flesh-toned bra and panties (thong style works best) and bring a few pairs of high heels and any hosiery you’d like to use (if you bring stockings, be sure they are not labeled “thigh-highs” as they will have a thick plastic top).

You may wear a loose-necked or button front shirt for hair and makeup styling, or use one of the robes provided at the studio.

We have an extensive costume closet filled with a large selection of wardrobe options in a wide range of sizes (women’s sizes 0-26).

In addition to our vintage options, some of our items include beautiful garments from Dita Von Teese, What Katie Did, Pinup Girl Clothing, Catherine D’Lish, Neiman Marcus, Sew She Said, Bettie Page Clothing, Secrets in Lace, Victoria’s Secret, Unique Vintage and many more.

Our pin-ups are always welcome to bring their own clothing as well, as long as the wardrobe is retro. We can mix and match items to find the perfect look for your shoot.

We do not provide vehicles, however you may bring your own vehicle to shoot outdoors during a private session. Time will not allow shooting a vehicle or bike at a one day special session.

Please contact us prior to the shoot to make arrangements.

Motorcycles may be brought into the studio for a $35 fee per bike. A handler must be on site at all times to move the bike. We are not responsible for moving any bikes or any damage that may occur while in studio. Bikes may not be driven into the studio, and you must keep the motor off at all times.

We rotate our sets and occasionally shoot on location, so feel free to contact us about a specific set or photo idea. Although a past set may no longer be available, we try to offer new ones throughout the year.

If you can, do some research into what kind of looks you prefer. Our hair and makeup artists have extensive styling experience and will find the best look for you with or without reference material. Keep in mind it is not always possible to replicate something exactly as many styles depend on the texture, length and fullness of your hair.

HAIR

• Clean hair works best for styling. For best results, wash your hair the night before and do not use any styling products on the day of your shoot (hair gel, baby oil, hairspray, etc).
• Do not come with dirty, greasy or oily hair as this will severely limit your styling options.
• If you have extremely curly hair that you want styled, please come with your hair already straightened so that we may style it.

FACE

• Have your eyebrows groomed 2-3 days before the shoot.
• Please arrive with clean, moisturized skin.
• If you have sensitivities to certain kinds of makeup, please feel free to bring your own.
• Remember that photo makeup and day-to-day makeup are very different. It may seem unnatural or too heavy for everyday wear, but on camera it will look normal. Natural, day-to-day makeup will not read on camera under studio lighting.
• Special effects or extreme makeup looks will require a consultation prior to your shoot and an additional fee for materials and services. Feel free to contact us with any special requests or ideas.

BODY

• Nails should be clean and free of chipped polish. We find a professional manicure and pedicure before your shoot works best. Read more about manicure do’s and don’ts here.
• Be sure to remove any body hair you do not want to show in your images.
• Get a good night’s rest the night before your session to reduce puffiness and dark circles.
• Keep your skin moisturized with lotion before you come to your shoot. Applying lotion immediately before your shoot can leave your skin looking greasy or shiny. Do not apply baby oil before your shoot.
• Be sure to wear a loose-necked or button front shirt for hair and makeup styling. Our costumes are not to be worn during hair and makeup styling.

The most important thing is that you feel beautiful and are happy with the result. The best thing about hair, makeup, and wardrobe is that it isn’t permanent. If you don’t like something, it won’t hurt our feelings and we can always change it!

All photos purchased from our portrait studio include retouching, which means all skin will be smoothed to pin-up perfection, eliminating blemishes, scars, bruises, stretch marks, cellulite, etc.

We also offer more extensive corrections if desired, such as fixing tan lines, body reshaping and sculpting, removal of braces or tattoos.

Prefer to keep it more natural or leave meaningful scars or birthmarks? The level of retouching is always at your discretion, so just let us know.

Although our main focus is turning everyday gals into fabulous pin-up vixens, our clients are allowed to add men, children (11 and under) and pets to their sessions as long as the theme is retro.

We only have wardrobe for women, so all other clothing will need to be provided by you.

Ladies 12 and over must book a separate session to join in the fun.

Absolutely! We will pose you from head to toe and help with facial expressions.

To prepare, try searching the internet to view pin-up art and photography from the 1940’s and 1950’s. Take a look at their faces and body positioning. Go to your mirror and work on facial expressions before your shoot. You may feel silly or self conscious, but the best thing you can do is fully commit to it and your photos will turn out great!

Be prepared to be physically active. The best pin-up poses are almost always awkward or uncomfortable. Before your shoot, be sure to stretch so that your body will be loosened up and ready to strike a pose.

Your session will take place at our portrait studio at 618 North Main Street, Temple, Texas 76501.

Cameras (even on your cell phone) are not allowed in any of our shooting areas, but feel free to take all the selfies you want in our hair and makeup room and dressing room.

You will review all your images immediately after your shoot and make your image selections. Payments for images are due in full on the day of your shoot or a $250 archive fee will be charged to keep your images on file.

We accept cash and credit/debit card payments. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express cards are accepted. Sorry, no checks accepted.

Images will be kept on file for 6 months for reorders.

Please allow 10-14 business days for retouching and an additional 5-7 business days for prints to process and arrive at the studio. Some specialty products take longer to process and arrive. We will contact you when your images are ready to be picked up.

Unless shipping arrangements have been made, you will pick up your images from our portrait studio at 618 North Main Street in Temple, TX. We will notify you as soon as your images are ready to be picked up.

Your photos will never be posted online unless you have given us your expressed permission to do so. We understand that some images are meant to be private or are surprises for a loved one, so we will never post them without your permission.

Lone Star Pin-up retains the copyright to all images created.

For high resolution image orders, we will include a letter authorizing you to print your images anywhere you like. Our low resolution, watermarked images are included for your personal use online. Digital images must remain unaltered unless alterations have been approved by the photographer.

It is illegal to copy, scan, distribute or reproduce any of our copyrighted images without our expressed permission.

We no longer offer pin-up party photoshoots, but we do offer 20% off a Basic, Deluxe or Ultimate Session when 2+ ladies shoot on the same day or 40% off a Basic Session when 4+ ladies shoot on the same day.

Since hair and makeup styling takes approximately one hour, we cannot accommodate more than 5 sessions in a single day.

While we mainly photograph our gorgeous clients, we occasionally post casting calls to our Facebook page if we are looking to shoot a specific theme. Like our page to get in on the action! We do not hire professional models or offer free photoshoots.
