Lone Star Pin-up is dedicated to the recreation of classic 1920's-1960's styles, from vintage pin-ups to flappers to old Hollywood glamour and everything in between! Our mission is to give contemporary girls the chance to produce retro and modern tributes to this quintessential style of art and photography.
We take everyday women and transform them with retro hair and makeup styling by one of our skilled stylists. Vintage wardrobe, accessories, props and professional photo retouching help complete the transformation. Let us transform you into a retro bombshell!
Lone Star Pin-up owner and photographer Erin Shephard is a Central Texas native. With a background in photo retouching and graphic design, she founded Lone Star Pin-up in 2008 as a creative outlet to share her love of pin-up artwork with friends. Word of mouth quickly spread, and the studio went from its humble garage beginnings to its first commercial space in October of 2010. Erin loves to recreate classic pin-up artwork and photos from the 1920's-1960's. She finds the glamour, elegance and sophisticated sexiness of the pin-up holds an allure for both men and women.
Erin is also a member of the Retro Lovely Magazine Pin-up Syndicate and Professional Photographers of America. Her photography and studio have been featured in numerous publications, including Atomic Bombshells Magazine, Retro Lovely Magazine, Bachelor Pad Magazine, The Central Texas Bride Guide, Bohemia Magazine, Sugar Heart Magazine and Pin-up Perfection Magazine (just to name a few), as well as highlighted on KCEN News and in the Killeen Daily Herald and Temple Daily Telegram.
In her free time, Erin loves to step in front of the camera as well. She has worked with several amazing photographers such as Viva Van Story, Lou Freeman, Redrum Collaboration, Shannon Brooke Imagery and Lindsay Adler. She also enjoys performing on stage whenever she can, and has been featured in several theatrical productions: The Drowsy Chaperone, Beauty and the Beast, The Producers, Leading Ladies, All Shook Up and Cats to name just a few.
Our lead hair and makeup artist, Wendy, began her makeup career while earning her degree in psychology in Fort Collins, Colorado. She worked in regional theater and film, quickly becoming renowned for her makeup skills. In 2005 Wendy moved to the Lone Star State where she founded Blood and Glitter Makeup!
The moment Wendy landed in Austin she began working in film and doing everything from glamour to special effects to pin-up styling and wig making. Wendy now does extensive photographic work as well as theater, film, and television and has become the premiere Austin pin-up makeup and hair stylist with numerous publications under her belt.
